Overall, I thought Mission Impossible 3 took what worked in the first two films and found ways to add to them or improve them. This is the film that set this series in motion to become one of the most renowned action franchises in Hollywood. With elaborate action set pieces, engaging characters, clear stakes, and the heist elements this really became the blueprint for where these movies would go moving forward. I really like this movie and this is one I would easily revisit again.
I think that Mission Impossible 2 is actually a good spy movie that fits in with many movies from this genre. It has some really cool action, an interesting McGuffin as well as a good performance by Tom Cruise. Sadly it does not live up to the highs of this series with not enough of the elements that make these movies distinctly Mission Impossible. I would only recommend this movie if you are in fact doing a marathon of the entire series. Otherwise, I would say there are 5 others I would pick before throwing this one on.
Overall, I thought Mission Impossible was a good movie. You can tell it’s old but it gives it some charm, especially the old technology. This is probably the one that puts the emphasis on the thriller aspect and the action takes a back seat but it gives it a distinct flavour in comparison to the others. This may not be my favourite of the series but I think it is a good start that only gets improved upon later!
Insidious 3 tries to recreate the magic of Insidious 2, but it lacks a terrifying villain to keep things interesting.
Dunkirk was a great reimagination of the event during World War II. With great cinematography and action, it was an entertaining war movie that all who are interested in the subject to watch.
Insidious 2 is a scary, faster paced version of Insidious, and it’s great!
Insidious is a scary start for the franchise, but it also develops a real plot.
As a huge fan of this character and this series, I was quite impressed with what this film was able to do and I look forward to watching it again. With many references and some classic Indy moments, I think this film lets our favorite archeologist rest having survived some crazy adventures. While this film may not reach the peaks of the originals I feel it is a worthy addition to the collection and ends the series where us fans can be satisfied with how the character ends his journey. Give em hell Indiana Jones!
I thought this film is definitely over-hated. It is not the worst film ever made and not every aspect of this film is awful. It does not ruin Indiana Jones and I would say it even adds a couple of interesting elements to the series that I did appreciate. However, it is still my least favourite Indiana Jones film and I was disappointed that they did not keep it consistent with the rest of the series I am happy that this was not the final note for the franchise. Still, I feel that this can be considered part of the franchise and doesn’t need to be wiped from the face of the earth.
From the slow pace, to some out of character moments, it felt like Run Rabbit Run missed its potential.
