Digman! Episode 4 Review

The Archy Gala is the best episode yet. It’s hilarious, it’s full of action, and the plot is great.
Episode 4 is an awesome watch, and my favourite episode so far. This is more what I was expecting from this show. The characters come together, and the plot of the episode is really interesting. It’s our least ‘archy’ episode yet, but it’s super entertaining.
Andy Samberg continues to fit the role of Rip Digman really well. As his character grows, the accent is becoming a lot less questionable to me. It wasn’t great to start the show, but I’m barely noticing it at this point. His character is starting to flesh out, and the show is benefiting a lot from that. As long as Rip is funny, this show can keep pumping out episodes.
Mitra Jouhari is awesome as Saltine, and she brings a more refined style of humour to the show. The episode is pretty balanced between Saltine and Rip, but it was nice to see Saltine get some time to shine on her own. Both characters are polar opposites, but that is what makes their relationship so entertaining.
The plot of this episode is so much more organized than last week. We have a clear plot, an interesting villain, and some really funny moments. It still moves really fast, but it feels a lot less discombobulated. I liked the slow roll at the start, and the way the episode really picks up once the action begins. There’s a lot that happens in a short period of time, and I was really engaged. Unlike past episodes, I didn’t feel confused by the plot, and thoroughly enjoyed this episode.
While Digman! still has a long way to go before I would be willing to call it one of the better shows running right now, it’s showing sings of improving. The plot was much better this week, and our characters are finding their groove. The humour was a less off this week, and there were less jokes that felt off. I am a sucker for anything starting Andy Samberg, but Digman! is starting to live up to expectations.
Digman! Episode 4 – 8.1/10
