Digman! Episode 5 Review

Digman! seems to get better every week, and episode 5 is no different. Samberg has created a show that started annoying, but has really grown on me and one I look forward to watching. The humour is dumb, and the plot isn’t all that deep, but it’s entertaining. As our characters flesh out, the show continues to improve, and I really enjoyed this week’s episode.
Episode 5 focuses on Amelia Earhart, and Rip attempting to find her plane. This episode doesn’t have as many archy moments or historical references, but I enjoyed the humour and the direction they took with the plot. Finally getting some quality airtime for Swooper was a fun touch, as Tim Robinson is hilarious.
The only downside to this episode is that it is very contained. With only two episodes left this season, I really expected a big connection to Zane and the larger story at hand. It doesn’t really affect this episode, but it leaves a lot left to accomplish in the final two episodes. We really don’t have a picture as to what is coming next, or where the season is going. While this isn’t unusual, as the finale probably won’t be super deep, it does leave us with questions marks surrounding Season 2 and what is next for Digman.
All in all, a solid fun episode this week. I’m really enjoying Digman! and our entire cast. The characters have found their footing, and I think the show has moved from cringey to funny in a matter of weeks.
