Quarantine at its Finest: The Bubble
The Bubble, A Review
The Bubble is a fun satire that jokes about the current health scene with some film industry jokes thrown in. It’s a fun movie for those who can handle satire.

Should You Watch:
The Bubble is a satirical drama, so if you get offended easily and can’t see it as a satire, then stay away. For anyone else, this movie was a blast to watch. Similar to Don’t Look Up, The Bubble satires the current global pandemic and the movie industry. For those who enjoy watching or consuming satirical content, give this one a shot.
What’s The Bubble About?
The Bubble is a satirical movie that follows Carol, an actress that returns to her old franchise after leaving for one movie. Once back on set, Carol is forced to quarantine for 2 weeks, as an infectious has been spreading around the world. After her two weeks, Carol soon reunites with her fellow actors and prepares to do her best while filming. However, tensions soon rise as filming takes longer than usual. Once someone is found to be positive, it causes panic and annoyance to everyone on set, which sets off a huge chain reaction.
Who’s in The Bubble?
The Bubble features a huge cast of characters, too many to name. As a point of reference, the story follows Carol, an actress who worked with the other actors to make Cliff Beasts. However, she soon left the project and returned after one was filmed in her absence. Besides her fellow actors, this movie also features the Cliff Beasts’ director, writer, and background crew, along with the hotel staff where the actors are staying.
Review
The Bubble is another satire that I got to watch that was similar to Don’t Look Up. Where Don’t Look Up was a satire about human nature, The Bubble satirizes the current health situation and the filming industry. Compared to Don’t Look Up, I’ve got to say, I enjoyed Don’t Look Up a bit more than The Bubble. The Bubble had more satire over the film industry, which I didn’t find as interesting as watching the whole world go to chaos. Click the links above to read more about Don’t Look Up.
Besides that, the characters were pretty good this time around. None of them were bad in my opinion. Now, some of them were cringy, but I feel like that’s justified based on the kind of movie this is. I also liked some of the cameos. I thought they added some extra spice to the whole thing, but not too overwhelming. Plot wise, I did enjoy it as well. Being a movie about movies, it was quite entertaining watching the actors essentially making fun of the movie itself.
Negatives wise, there wasn’t too much. I guess the main thing is that the movie feels a bit tedious sometimes and the cringe can be too much. But other than that, I have no major complaints. It was a fun movie that poked fun at the current health situation as well as the film industry.
Overall, The Bubble is a fun movie to watch. It’s not my favourite satire out there, but it is still a fun time. Give it shot if you’re into those kinds of content.
