Soul is a movie with a surprising number of deep themes while camouflaged under all the colouful colours. The bright colours will entertain children, while the deep topics will give older audiences something to think about.
The delicate balance of a dark story, riveting characters, and wonderful animations was executed perfectly.
With a combination of unique art styles, interesting sound design, loveable characters, and a compelling storyline, Into the Spider-Verse hits every possible note that you could want in a movie.
Episode 2 follows a similar path to episode 1, but improves on nearly everything. The episode is funnier, the plot is better, and it has me cautiously optimistic for next week.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish breaths air into a franchise that was drowning. The movie is visually fantastic, with clear roots to anime. The characters are just as fun as I remember them, and the plot was impressive
Go watch Pinnochio. It’s beautifully done, with a high level of detail and sophistication. The characters, from a literary standpoint, are nothing to call home about, but a new story set in a more modern era creates a very engaging movie. It adds new opportunities and troubles for Pinnochio, and I really enjoyed not watching the same old story.
All in all, Strange World is a really good movie. Disney or not, it’s a really fun movie to watch with lovable, relatable characters and a pretty decent plot. The visuals are awesome. Mix that with an interesting world around our characters, and you get a really good movie. This is a movie I would absolutely see in theatres, but it should be on Disney Plus sooner rather than later.
Lightyear was an alright movie. From the weak plot, pacing, and characters, there’s more to be desired. Watch at your own risk and be prepared to be disappointed.
Apollo 10 1/2 is a coming of age movie that explores a young boy’s imagination as he grows up during the bustling time of the space race.
Monsters Inc. is one of my favourite films from my childhood and one of my favourite films period. With a unique premise, interesting characters and some amazing animation.
