Clouds

“What is it that I plan to do with my one wild and precious life. It’s really simple actually, I just want to make people happy as much as I can for as long as I can and in the end I hope my story helps people realize that you don’t have to find out you’re dying to start living.“
Summary:
Based on a true story, Clouds follows the life of a high school senior named Zach Sobiech and his journey through osteosarcoma, a bone cancer. Diagnosed at 14, and after over 20 rounds of chemotherapy, Zach and his family believe that he has beaten the cancer. However, that was not what fate had in store for him.
The movie opens to Zach arriving at his school talent show. He walks in on his crutches and meets his friend Sammy in the backstage area to prepare for his performance. As he walks over, he sees Amy, a dancer, and the girl with whom he has feelings. After giving a dorky thumbs up to her, Zach performs in front of the school. The next day, he scores a picnic date with Amy and he’s elated. That morning, as he prepares for his date, Zach begins having a coughing fit which leads to a visit to the hospital. Zach discovers that he has a collapsed lung and that the cancer has spread to his lungs. He doesn’t know how long he has to live. The rest of the movie follows his journey through his new life.
Character:
We have 3 main characters in this movie:
Zach is the focus of the film. He is a high school senior with osteosarcoma, which is a form of bone cancer. He was diagnosed when he was 14. He is a very charismatic, positive person, who maintains a positive attitude throughout his struggles. He is also an incredible musician.
Sammy is Zach’s childhood best friend, and they have a strong bond involving music. She has been with Zach through all of his treatments, and she is like a sister to Zach. Sammy is also a very strong character, providing a lot of support and inspiration for Zach.
Amy is Zach’s girlfriend. They bond really quickly as the movie progresses, as they become a large part of each other’s lives. She is also a fantastic dancer. Amy is a huge part of this movie, as she is a huge influence on the decisions Zach makes and the path he goes down.

This movie was one of the best movies I have ever seen. The acting was spot on, the characters and dialogue were realistic and relatable, and the plot, although based on a true story, was heartwarming and touching. The story Zach and his struggles really put life into perspective and how one should live their life. I’m not usually the emotional type, but I have to admit, this movie had many moments that made me close to crying. The beautiful scenes, the believable acting, the natural dialogue, the realistic outcomes, this movie had all those qualities, and it delivered a perfect movie experience.
I think the best part of the movie were the characters and the dialogue. Each conversation felt natural and real and each character reacted appropriately for their given situations. I also really liked the message this story brought. Even if it was a bittersweet story, the message of living the best life for yourself was a wonderful message that puts life into perspective.
All in all, this was one of the best movies I have ever watched in a long time. I encourage everyone to watch it if they ever get the chance.

I loved this movie. Loved it. There isn’t a bad thing I could say about this movie. It was super emotional, the dialogue was wonderful, and the acting was fantastic. I loved the way the plot was written. It really did Zach’s story justice. As it was based on a true story, the main plot was already there for the writers to use, but they did a fantastic job of filling in the gaps and creating that attachment between the viewer and the characters. It didn’t ever feel fabricated, the entire movie felt very real and pure.
The actors and actresses did a fantastic job of portraying each character in a very unique way. Fin Argus, Sabrina Carpenter, and Madison Iseman were all fantastic in this movie, and I feel they did the story of Zach Sobiech justice. From the emotional ups and downs, to the little moments of comedy, the acting was fantastic. The worry with true stories can be how much the movie industry bends the story from what actually happened , but this one is not even close to that. The movie feels very pure, and it put all three of us in an emotional state. I could feel myself rooting for Zach to beat his diagnosis, and also understanding the pain of the people around him, having lost family members to cancer myself.
All around this was a wonderful story of a young man who managed to grab as much of his dream as he could in his limited time on earth. It is pure and raw and will bring your emotions right to the surface. If you are someone who cries in movies, you are probably going to want some tissues. I absolutely recommend everyone goes and watches this once, if not a couple times. It’s a heartwarming, tear jerking movie that is going to run your emotions through a marathon.

Clouds is a heartwarming yet tragic film about a young man who, after finally thinking he had beat cancer, learns that he is terminal and what he does with his time left. It is also based on a true story which adds another layer to the story as you realize all these events happened, which makes it all the sadder and all the more heartwarming. The story follows Zach Sobiech who is a great person to follow in this story as he is charismatic, charming, and kind which makes it all the more sad to watch him suffer especially at the beginning where we see he thinks he had beaten the cancer after 20 rounds of chemotherapy but instead discovers he is terminal. Fin Argus who plays Zach does a great job conveying the emotions that someone would feel in this situation. We see Zach be angry and push people away, we see the sadness he feels knowing he won’t have a future, and we see what he decides to do with his remaining time. Zach’s best friend Sammy ( as played by Sabrina Carpenter) is another standout as we see her feelings for Zach and how she tries to be supportive but also we see the toll it takes on her to lose her best friend. Zach’s girlfriend Amy ( as played by Madison Iseman) is great as we see how she does not care that he is terminal, she still loves him and she is his light in the darkness that is part of what keeps him fighting. The two are a great couple together that are cute and that you hope will work out. The rest of the cast is also brilliant as we see how what is happening to him effects his loved ones like his distraught parents who have to deal with losing their son which no parent wants to have to go through. We see siblings who have to watch their older or younger brother slowly become weaker and there is also a really great teacher who stands by Zach the whole way through.
This movie brings out all the emotions as it made me tear up multiple times during some well acted, well shot, and beautiful scenes that show you why you should fight to live. This movie has a lot of great quotes throughout with some great life advice that could resonate with anyone. The movie isn’t all sad though, it can in fact be quite funny with Zach himself being charismatic and witty as he tries to keep his situation light for others as well as for himself. It is also quite heartwarming, as I mentioned, because it really makes you care for all these people as you want them to make it out on the other side okay. You will feel for Zach as you just want to see him have the future that he will miss.
All in all, this is a fantastic film that you should definitely go watch. It will make you feel many emotions along the way but you will be so sucked in to the story that it should do that. With a fantastic cast and a inspirational true story it is for sure a movie I highly recommend.
