Although the group is initially pushed back, and struggling due to Vander and Alear trying to keep Clanne and Framme safe, Alear eventually recalls a bit of her past, enough to call upon the aid of their Emblem Ring, which summons Emblem Marth. To help in the defense, Brodia’s Ring, Emblem Roy, is summoned to help out. Alear’s forces are then able to repel the invasion, and in her escape, Ivy drops her Emblem Ring, which contained Emblem Leif. Another surprise that Veyle brings is a reanimated Corrupted Hyacinth, who seems closer to the alive Hyacinth compared to the monster that Corrupted Morion was.
After a long battle, the Four Hounds and Veyle retreat, and Hyacinth is put to rest. During this time, it was revealed that Veyle carries two personalities within herself. The kind one, who first saved Alear, and the evil one, who is loyal to the Fell Dragon. As the Hounds retreat, the good Veyle takes back control and gives two Emblem Rings back to Alear. Emblem Sigurd and Emblem Leif have returned.
Chapter 18: The Cold Voyage
After the attack on the port, the group begins moving towards Elusia by boat. Along the way, the group is attacked by more Elusian forces, as their boat is surrounded. After Abyme is defeated, the group reach Elusia.

(Author notes: During my first playthrough of this game, I didn’t realize that Lindon was recruitable. I killed him and didn’t know that I could’ve recruited him until much later watching other videos on Engage. Don’t be me. Remember to recruit Lindon.)
Chapter 19: The Dead Town
Once the group arrives on the coast of Elusia, the group disembarks and are instantly attacked by Marni and Mauvier. With Corrupted in front of the group, Alear presses onwards. Before turning away, Griss reveals that Alear is actually Sombron’s child, proven through the way they summon Emblems and the red hair. After the battle, it was found that the Four Hounds had split due to differing opinions. Mauvier and Marni meet up with Alear and the group after to pursue Veyle and Sombron.
Chapter 21: The Return
After the battle in Elusia, the group move to Lythos, the place where Sombron and Veyle are located. However, after revealing that Veyle is now mind controlled using a special crown infused with magic, something breaks in Marni. She tries to break the helmet off Veyle’s head. However, she is unsuccessful, only cracking the helmet slightly. With this betrayal out in the open, Zephia approaches Marni, and stabs her, killing Marni. Enraged, Mauvier joins Alear and the group try to free Veyle from Zephia.
Eventually, the group is able to defeat Zephia, Griss, and Veyle, but then Sombron appears. Noticing that Veyle is defective and weak, he launches an attack at her. A parallel to the beginning of the game, Alear sacrifices themselves for Veyle, after recently discovering that they are siblings. Alear dies, but Veyle is saved. Sombron then takes all the Emblem Rings and unleashes their full power to attain his goals. After the Rings are spent, he leaves them, along with Griss and Zephia.
Recruitable Characters: Mauvier
Chapter 22: The Fell and The Divine
This chapter happens immediately after the events of the previous chapter, similar to chapter 10 and 11. With Alear dead, the group is now disheartened. However, as more Corrupted appear, they resolve to fight through and live. During this time, it is revealed that Veyle can create Corrupted, and through willpower, Alear, from limbo, requests that Veyle brings them back as a Corrupted, and using Emblem Marth, who was recently recovered, Alear is ready to complete their next goal.
Alear then notices that the Emblem rings are discarded and that they can use them. When reaching groups of these Rings, Alear summons the Emblems from within, but instead of Divine Dragon power, the Rings are filled with Fell energy. Regardless, the group manages to fend off the Corrupted and retrieve all 12 Emblem Rings. However, at this moment, Veyle’s power to revive Alear as a Corrupted began to disappear, which means Alear can no longer move and was succumbing to death. Since all Emblem Rings are now reunited, they reveal one final power that they can bestow. With this gift, the Emblems imbue Alear with the power to now become an Emblem, the thirteenth Emblem.
Recruitable Characters: Veyle
Chapter 23: The Four Hounds
With Sombron’s power restored and at its maximum, Gradlon, the hidden country rises in the center of the sea. There, Alear and the group must destroy three crystals in order to reach Sombron, who is attempting to invade other worlds. Reaching a volcanic area, the group confronts Griss and Zephia for one last showdown. Eventually, the group wins and breaks the first crystal. After their defeat, Zephia gives a hint for the second crystal and gives Alear a magical crystal in order to access the second one. After the group leaves, Griss and Zephia have one final heart-to-heart before they pass into the afterlife.
Chapter 24: Recollections
With Zephia’s hint, the group travels to a lake, where the crystal is found at the very bottom. At first, the group is unsure of how to reach the crystal, but soon, the crystal that Zephia gave activates, and the group travels back in time. Instead of being at the bottom of the lake, the crystal is now sitting on an edge on the mountainside. In order to access this crystal, Alear must fight against their past self, and after defeating them, are able to destroy the second crystal. Once their task was complete, the group returns to the present.
Chapter 25: The Final Guardian
With the protection crystals destroyed, Alear and company reach Gradlon’s castle, ready to storm it and destroy the last crystal. Its final guardian, however, blindsides Alear. With Sombron’s immense strength, Lumera is brought back from the dead as a Corrupted, and Alear is forced to defeat their own mother in order to destroy the last crystal.
At first, Alear is hesitant, which gives Veyle the chance to puch them away and lock the door, so that she and Lumera can have a duel. Soon, Veyle realizes that she is not strong enough to defeat Lumera. Alear then enters the room after the locking magic fades, and together, they defeat Lumera. With the corrupted power leaving her body, Lumera is able to share some finals words with Alear before passing on. With all crystals destroyed, Alear can now fight Sombron, and end things once and for all.
Chapter 26: The Last Engage
In a dimension between worlds, Alear confronts Sombron. And with the power of friendship, Alear is able to take down the first phase of the battle. After that, Sombron unleashes his full power and turns into a dragon. He also summons Corrupted with Emblems of the villains from the previous titles in the Fire Emblem franchise.
After another long battle, Alear and the group defeat Sombron, and peace is brought back to Elyos. Since the Emblems used most of their power during the last few chapters of the game, their power is now spent, and following the final battle, all of them disappear back to their respective universes. Upon returning from the dimension between worlds, Alear is crowned the ruler of Lythos, and an age of peace begins.
Now, there is a special bad ending that happens if you get a game over during the final battle. After getting a game over, a cutscene plays where Alear is awoken as Veyle’s new Emblem. Some time has passed since the battle, and Alear no longer has control over themselves, since Emblems summoned by Fell Dragon powers do not possess free will. Alear is now subjugated to servitude for all of existence, and everyone they knew was brutally murdered by Sombron.
During the final credits of the game, special name cards appear for each character in the group that displays some stats, as well as reveal what happened after the war. Some of these will change depending on the support level between Alear and a chosen character. Regardless, after the credits roll, peace has now been achieved.
