Where to Watch Hubie Halloween?
Hubie Halloween is a funny, Halloween-themed movie that is sure to cause a lot of laughter.
What Happens in Hubie Halloween?
Set in Salem, Hubie Halloween displays the days leading up to a very fateful Halloween as well as the day itself. It begins with the escape of a mental patient and quickly rolls to the main protagonist, Hubie. Hubie is the town’s Halloween monitor, and he keeps Salem safe on Halloween year after year. This job comes with its perks, which for Hubie includes being attacked by eggs and a lot of public humiliation.
Regardless, Hubie puts the town’s safety on his back, and he goes out of his way to make sure everyone has fun and is safe. Halloween is the biggest night of the year for the town, and at times the political power of the town forgets that safety is more important than tourism dollars. This is where the real story begins.
Who Are The Characters In Hubie Halloween?
Hubie Dubois is the protagonist of the film, and he proves to be a fun character to follow. Hubie is the protector of his hometown of Salem as he constantly tries to make sure everyone is having a good time and he tries to keep them safe. Hubie also loves Halloween, as every year he monitors the town to make sure everyone is a trick or treating respectfully.
Hubie is the nicest and most considerate man, and he constantly compliments people. Unfortunately, he lives in a cruel town where everyone hates him. He is constantly mocked, ridiculed, and has stuff thrown at him. Even through all of that, Hubie remains a great guy who always does what is right even if he gets quite frightened.
Violet Valentine is the girl whom Hubie has had a crush on since the 2nd grade, and he believes she is the friendliest, most popular, and best-looking girl. Fortunately for Hubie, Violet is basically all those things, as she is good-looking and she is friendly which can be seen by the fact that she has three foster kids. She is also the only person who is nice to Hubie and seems to admire him for his kindness.
Hubie Halloween Review
I really enjoyed this movie, from start to finish. It is entertaining and pretty darn funny, and the characters are awesome. Adam Sandler and Julie Brown are a hilarious, lovable combo. This is exactly what I expected from an Adam Sandler movie, and it’s one of the reasons I enjoy them so much. It’s not the masterpiece that Ghostbusters is, but Hubie Halloween brings comedy back to halloween.
The characters are one of the best parts of this movie. The characters are so unique, and they all bring something to the table. From Hubie to Aurora, everyone adds to the entertainment in the form of comedy, character development, or even just to add to the plot. There are a few characters thrown in to give another suspect for all the events that occurred in Salem on that fateful Halloween. I also thought that the acting was pretty good, and the moment with Shaq was beyond funny.
The plot moves along pretty well, with a bit of suspense thrown in. The ending isn’t totally surprising, but the path to get there is filled with some ups and downs. I did enjoy the smaller storylines within the larger plot, but I found there were a few moments during the movie that lost my attention.
All in all, this was a pretty good movie. It was the goofy, Adam Sandler movie that I expected to see, and if you have seen any of his other movies, you know what I’m talking about. The characters are both lovable and relatable, and I found myself feeling bad for Hubie at times.
While the plot didn’t always hold my full attention, it flows along and does a good job of avoiding being too predictable. I’m not a fan of knowing what’s going to happen before it does, and this movie does that for the most part. If you are looking for a funny Halloween movie that falls on the goofy, not scary side of the spectrum, go give Hubie Halloween a watch!
