Project Cars 2

Free Play:
This mode allows you to play as any car that you have unlocked and any track you have unlocked and you can just race to your heart’s content. You can try any type of racing and just have fun speeding around on the track just having a good time.
Characters:
Career mode is by far my favourite game mode in Project Cars 2. There are so many races to be done with a variety of cars. The 6 levels of difficulty give a clear progression path, and the short/long option allows you to shorten the length of your career. I also enjoy the steps they took towards making the game as accurate as possible with the options to add practice time as well as run qualifying laps on each of the races.

Most of my experience in racing games come from Mario Kart or some of the arcade racing games with the wheel. For this game, we had the opportunity to play with both pedals and a wheel. Personally, I think this is the best way to enjoy this game and most racing games. Having control of your car through pedals and a wheel gives a different experience. Now, for this review, it will be based around my experience while using this set up.
Now, when it comes to racing games, there isn’t really a negative. There were plenty of cars and tracks to race on. From racing down the streets of Italy, to participating in the Indy 500, the possibilities are endless. I will have to say that this game is difficult. It’s hard to get started and it’s hard to master. If you watch our gameplay videos on our YouTube, then you’ll know how bad some of us drive. Even with these setbacks, I still really enjoyed this game. Racing games need this immersive feel in order to be fun.
Overall, there isn’t much to say. The game plus the wheel set up is the primary way to enjoy this game. It’s a hard game to play, but it’s exhilarating, and it will be really satisfying once you master it.
Favourite Moment (Spoilers):
My favourite moment when playing this game was when we played the career mode and turned damage on. It was a fun experience watching the wheels of the car rolling away. It was also fun driving with the full set up during these races.

This game was tons of fun! Part of what I enjoyed was just how bad I was at using the steering wheel that we used to play it. All I really want from a racing game is to be able to drive fast, crash my car, and use a bunch of different cars and this gives me that. The free play mode was super fun and I liked using a really fast car with little control on a track with many turns as it was funny to watch me spin out constantly. The career mode was also super fun as you got to compete in many different types of races using specific cars for that type of track and you try to work your way up to the top of the leaderboard. If you saw our videos, we didn’t win a single race but we had a lot of fun trying our best. I did like that the damage to the cars felt real and could become progressively worse. I liked how technical the controls were in the game as well as because of the fast speeds a slight turn could nearly flip your vehicle. This game felt to me like a decent simulation of what real racing could be like and I enjoyed every minute of playing it.
All in all, this is a really fun racing game that I would highly recommend and say you should play in a group to have more laughs.
Favourite Moment:
When I lost a tire at the beginning of the race but still almost finished a lap. That was super funny and made all of us laugh.

Wow, this game is so fun but so hard. The graphics are incredible from course to course, and the driving mechanics felt great. We used a turbo master wheel and pedal set, which was definitely more fun than using a controller. The precision this game takes to be good at made it quite a challenge, but I thought the challenge was half of what made it so entertaining. The free play mode has so many cars and so many beautiful courses that you could drive around without a purpose, just free racing for hours on end. Now I would also like to say this game may be a touch too hard. If you have no experience playing these games, and no one to laugh at your failures with, it could get frustrating in a hurry. Once you get the controllers down, it will be a super fun game, but it’s hard to appreciate the finer points while you crash into a wall.
This is by far the best racing game I’ve experienced to date. The controller gameplay felt super sensitive, but I thought the wheel and pedal gameplay was awesome. It is beyond difficult, but super satisfying when you finally grasp the game.
Favourite moment:
Without a doubt, my favourite moment was racing tracks like Indianapolis with the straights and slight turns. The ability to put the pedal to the metal and not worry about tight turns made for an exhilarating race.
